The access below the reregulation dam was closed but we took the foot path to the river and put in there. This might have taken a bit off this trip distance but not much. We pushed off about 1230 hours and took out at 1740 hours. At the end, we found an exhausted and nearly drowned groundhog that we gently put up in the vegetation. S/he couldn't even move from the boat ramp. This was Daniel and Hannah's first float trip as newlyweds! The access below the reregulation dam was closed but we took the foot path to the river and put in there. There was no current on the Salt River at all. At times, we were paddling against the wind. If we had a straight tail wind, or there was a flow, the trip would have been much better. There was no current on the Salt River at all. At times, we were paddling against the wind.
