Shoal Creek seems to switch back and forth between a clear, spring-fed Ozark river and a prairie ditch. The brush piles and log jams made for a moderately technical trip which would probably have been dangerous in high water. Railroad tracks are always nearby and trains are frequent.Shoal Creek seems to switch back and forth between a clear, spring-fed Ozark river and a prairie ditch.
